There are ten problem sets, two quizs and one final exam for CNS. You must finish all these to pass the course, and you must put in a reasonable effort on all of them. Each problem set counts 10 scores and each quiz counts 30 scores and the final exam counts 40 scores. So at last your grade will be based on these 200 scores. Each problem set is handed out on Monday and is due the following Monday at 5PM, unless otherwise noted.
These problem sets and solution sets have been created by John Hopfield and by the many people that have been Collective Computation teaching assistants or part of the Hopfield group at Caltech. The list of people involved includes (in rough chronological order):
John Platt, David Feinstein, Dawei Dong, Zhaoping Li, Brooke Anderson, Ron Benson, David MacKay, Doug Kerns, Mike Lewicki, Marcus Mitchell, Carlos Brody, Tom Annau, Sam Roweis, Laurent Itti, Amin Manwani, and Erik Winfree.
It has been adapted by Dawei Dong and by the people that have been Computational Neuroscience teaching assistants or part of the Computational Neuroscience Lab at FAU. The list of people involved includes:Xin Guan, Wilson Truccolo, and Mohammad Dastjerdi.
