This course will study the mind's complex processes from a multi-disciplinary point of view --- cognitive psychology, behavioral neurology, and neuroscience. It will cover material on perception, language, attention, memory, motor control, feelings, and consciousness. Topics includes brain-injured patients, neurophysiological research in animals, the study of normal cognitive processes in humans with noninvasive behavioral and physiological techniques (e.g., EEG, MRI, PET scan), and more.
This is an introductory course for undergraduate students who have some neuroscience background and are interested in understanding neuronal basis of cognitive process.
